Steve Krzystyniak and his wife Lily Guilford have been the proud owner operators of Indian Motorcycle Adventures Ltd for 12 years. Our company specializes in motorcycle tours in India and we are the only Australasian company regularly operating tours in Rajasthan. Over our 14 years of touring in Rajasthan we have made many friends and are well known and respected there. This enables us to open many secret doors and enhance your experience of India. We conduct all tours ourselves and will personally assist you from your first enquiry to our Parakai office to our group’s farewell dinner.
We are experts on all aspects of motorbike touring in India and will guide you in all matters from what to eat, to getting a ‘bargain’ souvenir. We offer ‘hands on’ leadership throughout your adventure.
Steve has co-authored a yachting guide book to New Zealand, contributed to the Lonely Planet guide books on India and has recently published 'Bitten by the Bullet' a book about our Indian adventures [see contacts page to order your copy]. He is a keen vintage car and motorcycle enthusiast and a hobby farmer.
Lily is an experienced emergency nurse who has worked and travelled extensively in South America and Asia.
Our prices are considerably below the level of any of our credible competitors as we have over our 12 years of operation developed direct and personal relationships with our accommodation and service suppliers. This enables us up to keep costs to far lower than operators who leave everything to an “agent” while also providing a much more personal experience of the places visited.
We have taken over 700 people form NZ and around the world on tour and enjoy the patronage of many repeat clients - (our Ladakh tour for 2011 is fully booked with repeats) We are happy to put any prospective client in touch with several of them to obtain an unbiased view of our operations - they are by far our best advert!
We are often asked why we don't run more tours as we could obviously fill them. We do not wish to become an impersonal production line, hiring young, inexperienced guides and thinking of our clients as just numbers as we have seen with many other motorcycle tour operators. Our energy is focused on our one or two tours per year and on making them all exceptional and memorable events for those involved including ourselves.
The sights, sounds and tastes of India are limitless and by travelling with an independent motorcycle group, your opportunities to enjoy the richness of this endlessly surprising country are immense. It is an enormous country of incredible contrasts with intense beauty and appalling tragedy often side by side. In India, we offer motorcycling tours in both the historic semi-desert state of Rajasthan taking in the most exotic and colourful aspects of India. Our “Over the top” tour of the Ladakh region high in the Himalayas . Motorcycling here, although challenging, avoids many of the hassles associated with train or bus travel. We are experts on all aspects of motorbike touring in these areas, and will assist our clients in all matters from what to eat, to getting a 'bargain' souvenir.
All our tours are accompanied by Steve and Lily, Imran, our mechanic, and at least one backup vehicle with luggage and spares. The well maintained 500cc Enfield Bullets are modern day classics and a joy to ride. We travel in small groups of up to 15 motorcycles and offer experienced personalised support to all our clients.
You'll need a relaxed and flexible attitude to travelling and most of all, a sense of humour. Our tours are true adventures that will challenge you both physically and emotionally.
