The Annual Oamaru Ordinary Cycle Club Tour

This year from Mount Cook to Oamaru via the newly established Alps to Ocean cycle trail.

Leaving from Oamaru on the 9th November 2013 to travel to Mount Cook village and enjoy the sights there. We will be staying at the Village overnight.

-10th November we start the day by being flown over Lake Pukaki to the start of the trail. The bridge has yet to be built. The day will finish at Twizel.

-11th November involves traveling alongside the canals to Ohau. After lunch there is a challenging ride over the hill to Omarama past the Clay cliffs. As always there will be the option to travel by road if a section is deemed to demanding for rider or machine.

-12th November brings on the Otemetata saddle. Can you ride it all the way? Be careful on the way down the other side too. The trail diverts around Lake Aviemore crossing the Benmore and Aviemore dams. We will be staying the night in Kurow.

-13th November has a leisurely ride via Duntroon to the Dansey's pass Holiday Park.

-14th November we ride back into Oamaru in time for the Oamaru Victorian Heritage Celebrations. www.vhc.co.nz on Saturday there will be racing and cycle events around the historic precinct area where the roads will be closed.
