A promise honoured

We note with some enthusiasm that the public use of private facilities for elective surgery
as promised in the supply and confidence agreement with United future is not empty words
but a reaity as indicated by the recent press release by the Hon Peter Dunne

The main health concerns for the elderly ,
centre around getting onto the waiting lists to be for elective surgery for cataracts ,
hearing problems and deteriorating hip knee and ankle joints.

Any move to use private facilities to alleviate these conditions is most welcome to our
many members currently on the phantom waiting , totally unrecognized by the government ,
where the patient is shuffled between GP and Specialist until the condition is such that
the required points are reached to attain a place ion the waiting list.

The Hon Peter Dunne is an Associate Minister of Health so is in a position to implement this
promise so perhaps ther is some hope on the horizon for those that require elective surgery .
