The Grounsell Clan
The Grounsell clan whose attachment
I claim
Came to New-Zealand with the sole aim
To improve their lot and escape the cold
Upon bones that were far from old.
On the Captain Cook they did set
sail
Left behind the sleet and the hail
The journey, an adventure for some
35 days of sea and sun.
In England they left all their
friends and relations,
Bought both their history and characterizations.
Be they Hogg or Shore, Whitehead or Wilton,
Parry or Baker,Fordham or Coulton,
Dearling or Keeling, Morgan and
crew
Griffith (s) or Gibbons to name but a few,
Brunskill or Shiller, Allen or Moss,
I know there's more but I'm at a loss.
O'Brien or Cropper and Chapman
the last
Are some of the names both present and past.
