Mace
60cm
A knight's answer to the development of plate mail, the Mace was sometimes used to panel-beat a plated adversary into submission or even death by crushing his armour around him. This weapon's small size makes it very useful in close combat, and its shape allows fast changes of direction mid-swing. The Mace is particularly effective for taking out your opponent's exposed sword-hand, or for countering an adversary whose tactics involve trying to close distance on you.

Morning Star
60cm
This weapon used a large weighted metal ball to drive its spikes deep into an opponents armour. The spikes also help to intimidate foes, who know all too well what they're intended for. The small size of the haft allows The Morning Star to be effectively employed as an off-hand weapon, while the large head makes it substantial enough to turn aside blows from larger weapons.

Small Axe
65cm
The wide blades of The Small Axe offer some excellent protection. However, don't be drawn into a defensive stance with this weapon, because holding back won't win you the fight. Powerful when wielded alone or with a Shield and devastating if paired for a flurry of attacks, keep up the pressure and the large blades will work to keep you safe while you do the attacking.

The Black Widow
100cm
This spider-styled weapon is reminiscent of the Druids, who often crafted weaponry in honour of a powerful legendary creature. In this case, that creature is the fabled Spider-Queen. Design concept aside, The Black Widow is a potent weapon - the complex guard design hides it’s origins as an oriental weapon, and between it's slim-line blade and thin guard it works well for quick fighters, and even as half of a pair. The guard protects the wielder's hand, and the strengthened central design makes for a very strong hilt despite the sword's fine details.

Long Axe
107cm
Originally adapted from (or often substituted with) a farming tool as a cheap way to arm a group of peasants, the advantages of this monstrous weapon soon became apparent, and it began to gain popularity with other classes of warrior. The head of the axe gives an incredible advantage versus defensive weaponry such as shields or basket-guarded swords, as it allows striking behind the obstacle without over-extending or exposing oneself to do so. The intimidation factor of this piece should not be ignored either, many warriors armed with only a sword would think twice before taking on this beast.
