LATEST SURINAME SEMINARS

A second round of highly successful seminars has just been concluded by Danny in Paramaribo, Suriname, South America. This was a follow-up to last years Introductory course and followed his appearance at an Expo organised by the Suriname Ministry of Health in Paramaribo.

This special Expo featured topics from orthodox medicine to alternative methods of caring for the environment. Suriname, surely one of Sth America's most exotic destinations with its unique placement on the edge of the Amazon Rain Forest is especially vulnerable to environmental issues. It is wonderful to see so much awareness of these special concerns.

The Expo was held over three days at an outdoor venue, a structure designed with roof but open on all sides for the tropical climate. This allowed for plenty of ventilation and kept everyone dry when the heavens opened on at least one occasion and the rain came down in oceans! Visitor numbers were high and it was very gratifying to see the growing level of interest in traditional feng shui in Suriname.

A review class was held for last years students and then students from this years Introductory course joined those from the previous year to learn the basics of the Xuan Kong system of traditional feng shui. Great excitement was generated amongst the students as the implications of this traditional system were realised. There is now a very solid group of dedicated students in Suriname moving forward with a regular study group of their own. There will be further seminars in May of 2002.
