HOUSE 2

The second house we are going to examine faced the exact opposite of the first. This house faced East 1 or the first sector of the East and therefore sat to West. There was a small creek running behind the house and flat land to the front. There was also a series of very tall evergreen trees at the front of the house. Although these were not exactly a mountain, it was their height and form that had created relative stability towards the front of the house.

The 'Stars' looked like this.

As you can see the two numbers in the Central Palace have switched places as this house faces East and sits to West. This puts the inner grid front 5 as the 'facing star' in the Central Palace and the inner grid back 9 from the West sector as the 'sitting star' in the Central Palace. Once again the 'Facing 7' is in the 'Sitting' Palace, while the 'Sitting 7'is in the 'Facing Palace'. You will notice that this is an exact replica of the last house only this time facing East and sitting to West. And once again the physical environment of the surrounding land form has matched the internal dynamics of the house.

It had never been a completely satisfactory fixing of the reversal, as high as the trees were, they could not really give the substance or mass that a real hill or mountain would provide. The problems began in earnest when unwittingly, the home owner decided to cut the trees down to avoid the danger of falling branches. Within weeks they began to experience severe financial difficulties followed by strains in the couple's relationship. Several months later real trauma struck with the breakdown of two large and essential pieces of equipment vital to their business. This coincided precisely with the first heavy rains of late autumn. Then each time it rained and the flow of water through the creek to the rear of the property increased, so did the degree of their financial and personal difficulties.

It was not until a few months later when they called in a feng shui consultant to check what was happening that they were able to make the link between the chopping down of the trees and the start of their real troubles. However, once the link was made and they put a group of large rocks to the front of the house and planted a row of new trees, the problems began to ease and things stabilised for them. Sadly it was too late to undo the damage already done but at least they were out of danger and able to start rebuilding their by now almost shattered business.

Of course there is a great deal more to be analysed with this method of feng shui. I hope though that it will start to give readers a glimpse into one of the most fascinating aspects of traditional feng shui and cause pause for thought the next time something seems to be working out well for you. Do you know where the Water and Moutain influences should be in your house? Should there be Water or a Mountain at all or does your house fit yet another set of unique feng shui features? More next time.
