CASE
STUDY 2 This case study illustrates the importance of taking into consideration the Land Form when assessing the feng shui of any site. Ms. G. was a single lady, once divorced and living alone in a small cottage. The cottage was not a new one but had recently been renovated and redecorated and provided Ms. G. with a country home from where she was able to write and study. Although she still worked part time at her original profession, she was now in a position to concentrate her main energies on her career as a writer, a long cherished dream. She had called in a feng shui expert as, having made the renovations to her home, she wanted to assure herself that everything was as it should be. Had she consulted the feng shui expert prior to ordering the renovations she could have been helped more. As it was the renovations were complete and it was going to be disruptive to alter very much of anything. She told the feng shui man that she had lived in the house for several years already and that financially she had done very well while living there. Her work had gone well, she was able to sell some of her stories on a regular basis and she enjoyed particularly good health. This was heartening to hear and the feng shui man checked several factors for her prosperity and health. He found that her main entrance indeed faced her Sheng Chi (Prosperity Sector) and that she slept in an area which corresponded to her Tien Yi or 'Heaven's Doctor'. All appeared to be as it should. However, Ms. G. passed the comment that although life had indeed been very generous to her, ever since she had moved into the house, romance seemed to have disappeared. She further complained that any man she had been involved with seemed to be something of a wimp! Was it possible for the feng shui man to assist her in this regard? The 'Fire Mouth' of her kitchen stove was checked and found to be facing her Wu Gwei. Not auspicious for her relationships and romance. It was suggested that this be turned (at some considerable cost now that the renovations were complete) to face her Yien Yen Sector. This it was explained, would help to better activate her romance prospects. However, she was also warned that even in making this change, it was likely that any man she was ever involved with in that house would be weaker than her. The feng shui man then took her outside to look at the surrounding landscape. The land mass was configured with all the height being to the rear and right side of the house and only low ground falling away to water on the left side which meant that the female energies of the Tiger Hill effectively dominated the house. This meant that any man living here would always be dominated by the woman. The main lesson to be taken? 1:Unless you can change the surrounding landscape to better suit your own personal feng shui requirements (unlikely in most instances) you are stuck with them. So choose your spot carefully. 2: It
is better to have any plans for alterations checked by a feng shui expert
prior to ordering the work being done. It may save you a lot of hassle
and expense afterwards.
