My Favourite Moments With You

Beautiful Emma,
There are so many special things about you, so it is hard to choose my favourite moments with you.

I love first thing in the morning listening to you waking, and quietly entertaining yourself in your bed. You are very patient with Mummy and I can tell that you are trying to give me an extra few minutes of sleep before we need to have breakfast. Sometimes I get up and watch you in your bed. You don't always see me straight away, but when you do, a huge smile lights up your face. Its almost like old friends seeing each other after much anticipation. Its such a nice way to start the day.

When I change your nappy, I kiss the bottom of your feet. You giggle and laugh about it. It doesn't matter how many times I kiss your little feet - you still think it is very funny!

Sometimes when you have been up for a while and you drink a big bottle of milk, you get all sleepy. Its so cute when I am trying to bring up your wind bubbles and you are trying to keep your eyes open. You get all droopy and and floppy. When you give up the struggle to stay awake, you sleep safely in Mummys arms.

I love it when Daddy comes home and asks how his two favourite girls are. He always kisses Mummy first, and then kisses you. You and Daddy have such lovely times together. Sometimes I think you like Daddy more than me, but I am the one you want cuddles from when you are sick or have bad dreams.

All the 'first times' are precious to me. Especially the big things like rolling over. What a thrill it was to see you do that for the first time. Yesterday I watched you look at a toy, reach out for it, then grab it. That showed Mummy that you can now use your little hands at will and they are not so uncontrolled anymore.

Bath time is also one of our favourite times. You splash around and kick out your legs. Sometimes Mummy gets more wet that you do!! You giggle and have so much fun. The trouble with bath time is that you love it too much and cry when its time for you to get out!!

At the end of the day when you finally go to sleep for the night, your Daddy and I watch you sleeping. We thank God every day for giving us such a precious baby. You look so peaceful and you let Mummy and Daddy sleep through the whole night. I go to bed feeling so warm because I know it won't be long until I wake up in the morning and see that beaming smile coming from your bassinette again.

Love,
Mummy
