aims at delivering what the educational system and
media in the U.K. sometimes call "Communications Welsh"; i.e. Welsh
such as will readily be understood by Welsh speakers in
either North or South Wales.
However, whilst gross dialecticisms have been avoided, this software
inclines towards Northern pronunciation wherever there is no middle road
- e.g. on the pronunciation of "dyn" (man) or "un" (one), the vowels
of which many Welsh speakers in South Wales would pronounce much the same as "ee" in English,
but which have a somewhat different sound all of their own in Northern Welsh.
