CUSTOMERS ARE WELCOME TO DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING NOTES ABOUT HOW TO MAKE BEST USE OF THE RHYMING TIMES TABLES INTERACTIVE COMPUTER CD ...The best way to use this disc is to concentrate on learning just one times table at a time. Basically, it is best to begin by learning one of the easier tables first. Begin by running the program "R-TABLES" , applying it to the times table you have chosen for study. Read the rhyming times table ALOUD as it appears on screen in the program "R-TABLES", and notice how some of the mnemonics are based on two words which rhyme with one word - such as "plenty more" rhyming with "twenty-four" in the rhyming three times table. Next, run the interactive program MNEMONIC, applying it to the same times table and practising the appropriate MNEMONIC CONSOLIDATION DRILL EXERCISES. After that, run the interactive program "COMPLETE", applying this too to the same times table, and practising the EQUATION COMPLETION DRILL EXERCISES. Be sure to use the numbers on the main part of your computer key board, and NOT the numbers on the number-pad part of the keyboard, when typing in the answers in these exercises. Finally, run the interactive program "ACHIEVER", which presents the multiplication equations in random order - the way they are apt to turn in real life. The program offers two levels of randomness - partial randomness and full randomness. The partial randomness level just presents the multiplication equations of one particular table of your choice in random order; and the other more demanding level - Full Randomness - presents multiplication equations from ALL the times tables in random order. As usual, it is definitely best to work on the easier level first. On both levels, there are two operational modes available: audio mode and keyboard mode. First, run the program in audio mode, just calling out your answers to the multiplication questions as you hear them and listen to the computer's answers to check whether you are getting your answers right. As soon as you find that you are getting all your answers for a particular table right in audio mode, move on to keyboard mode for that particular table -and, here again, be sure to use the numbers on the main part of your computer key board, and NOT the numbers on the number-pad part of the keyboard. In the keyboard mode of "ACHIEVER", the computer will give you a score for your performance at the end of each complete run. When you achieve three consecutive runs with a score of 100%, move on to the next time table. Finally, select the Full Randomness level of "Achiever", and begin by running the program in audio mode until you not only feel at home with the completely random way in which the multiplication equations are presented, but are also getting most of the answers right. When you get to that level of achievement, test yourself further by running "Achiever" at Full Randomness level in keyboard mode. At that level, your aim should be to achieve at least a dozen consecutive runs with a score of 100% every time. By the time you have achieved that, you should be very close to completing your command of the times tables you have been studying, but do continue to use everything on the Rhyming Times Tables Interactive Computer CD, to help revise your knowledge, for as long as it takes you to achieve complete mastery of the multiplication equations. Important: at the end of each run, when you have made an exit from the program, you may need to left-click the Close Button ("x") in the top right-hand corner of the window, in order to close the window in which the CD has been running. |
