Can the IBM-Compatible educational software
by Educator Discs and Videos be run on
iMac / Apple Mac computers too?
THE ANSWER
Many schools with iMac / Apple Mac computers are now running
educational software by Educator Discs and Videos. The fact is this: iMac / Apple Mac computers can run
this software provided they have Windows Emulation (e.g. Softwindows 98)
installed.
More and more families and schools are finding it worthwhile to put Windows Emulation on
their iMac / Apple Mac computers, so that they can run IBM-compatible software
such as the educational software by Educator Discs and Videos.
WHAT TO DO NEXT...
When you are thinking of ordering any of this IBM-compatible educational
software for use on any iMac / Apple Mac computer, please check whether your
computer already has Windows Emulation installed, and if not, whether you
could arrange to have an appropriate Windows Emulation installed, to enable
you to run this IBM-compatible educational software.
There are various forms of IBM-compatibility emulation which can
be installed on Mac computers, and you might need to check
with the dealer who supplied your computer whether he could help you
to arrange to select the most suitable form of emulation to be installed
on your particular computer.

THE ANSWER
Most reasonably recent MAC computers have iTunes on board, and if a MAC computer has iTunes on board
and is in full working order it can play the four MP3 discs which are now available in the Educator Discs &
Videos range, namely:-
1) The "Talk Maori Today!" MP3 Audio CD
2) The "Talk Samoan Today!" MP3 Audio CD
3) The "Talk Rarotongan Today!" MP3 Audio CD
4) The "Talk Spanish Today!" MP3 Audio CD
WHAT TO DO NEXT...
If you are thinking of ordering any of the above-mentioned MP3 Audio CDs
for use on a MAC computer, just check first that the MAC computer
does actually have iTunes on board before you order the disc.
Please note also that the content of these four MP3 discs is the same as
that of the four ordinary Audio CDs in this range, except that the sound files
of the MP3 discs are in ".mp3" format (for use on MP3 Players, and on MAC computers which have iTunes on board), and NOT in the ".cda" format of ordinary audio CDs for use with ordinary CD players.

Are there any audio tape cassettes available as adjuncts

THE ANSWER
Yes, there are audio tape cassettes available as optional adjuncts for some
of the Maori Language, French Language, German Language, Samoan Language and Spanish Language CDs by Educator

Is there any way of taking a look at some of these tuition discs free of
charge?
THE ANSWER
The free demo downloads mentioned
lower down this page are NOT full CDs but are just meant to
provide a little preliminary glimpse of what the standard versions of the CDs have to offer.
However, you may be able either to borrow some of the CDs in which you are
interested through your local library, or to view them at your school,
college, polytechnic or university...
In New Zealand in particular,
many public libraries, schools, colleges, polytechnics and universities
have some of these CDs in stock. If your own local public library, school,
college, polytechnic or university, does not happen to stock any of these CDs
in which you happen to be interested, you may be able to interest them
in buying the CDs in for you ... and for all the many others who may be interested.
In New Zealand, your local library will almost certainly be
able to borrow most of these CDs for you on some sort of library
interloans system, but please note: if a library gets the CDs on an
interloans system for you, you may well find that there is some fee
payable to your local library at that point... |
