For a human teacher to inculcate something as complex as the time tables, for instance, calls for almost infinite patience and ineffable good temper - not qualities for which the human race is likely to go into the inter-galactic book of records, but qualities which Computer possesses in abundance. Like many other parents and teachers, John and Rosalind Stinchcombe (the Directors of Educator Discs), originally experienced some difficulty (and that's putting matters mildly!) when confronted with the job of teaching the times tables to their two sons.
