SPARKLING THE DOOR

Supplies needed
GA 5 and Sparkles
The Sparkles can be downloaded
HERE
This tutorial assumes that you
have a working knowledge of PI and GA 5.
Open GA 5, Navigate to the folder where you have your UFO and
click on it, click OK.
Assuming you have just made the name tag in my
"Shut The Door" Tutorial, you
should have 5 name layers. Make sure that All Objects is showing in the Objects
Manager Palette.
Click on the top layer, hold down shift and click on the
bottom one.
Right click and click on Distribute to Frames.

Select frames 2-5 in the running board, Right Click/Reverse Frame Order, then click OK.
Right-click again and click on Duplicate Frames and then (last
time) Right-click/Reverse Frame Order.
Your running board should now look like the example below,
with the closed doors at frames 5 and 6.

OK now for the sparkle.
Highlight frame 5 and go to the Add Image icon.

Navigate to the folder that you have unzipped
your sparkles into, select one (we will only be using 2 frame sparkles, makes
it easier) Click OK.
Your sparkle will probably appear in the
transparent area of your image

So go to the tool bar on the left, select the
pick tool and click on your sparkle and move it to the position where you would
like it. I moved mine to the position of the 2nd arrow.

Go to: Frame/Synchronize Objects Across Frames,
make sure that Active Objects only and All Frames is checked, Click OK.

OK now because it is only a 2 frame sparkle and
we are only working with frames 5 and 6 close the eye of one colour on 5 and
open it on 6 so that you have alternating colours
Now highlight both frames of the sparkles and
right-click and Duplicate Objects.
If you
want more than one sparkle on your tag you must Duplicate it. This
is so that it will sparkle independently from the first one.

Move your sparkle to the next position that you would
like to have a sparkle.

Every time that you Duplicate and move your
sparkle to the next position you MUST always
Go to: Frame/Synchronize Objects Across Frames.

Make
sure that Active Objects only and All Frames is checked, Click OK.

Once again you will have to close the eye of
one colour on 5 and open it on 6 so that you have alternating colours.
OK you get the idea.
I Duplicated my
sparkle 6 times to make a total of 7 sparkle sets. Don't forget that every time
that you Duplicate the Sparkles you must follow the steps above.
Now that we have our sparkles sorted and in the
positions that we want them, it is time to Duplicate frames 5 and 6, so highlight
frames 5 and 6 and right-click and Duplicate Frames twice, this will give you a
total of 6 frames with the door closed and your sparkles on.
Highlight those 6 frames and Right Click/Frame
Properties and put 20 in the speed value box, click OK.
Highlight your 1st frame, Right Click/Frame
Properties and put 120 in the speed value box.
Now we are ready to run the animation so click
on the preview tab and have a look.............is it Ok?? If not, go back
over the steps.
If so, save it.
The sparkles sort of give you the feeling that
they are unlocking the door, hence the name of this tutorial.
