Title: Quick Snow
Skill Level: Beginner
Description: This tutorial will teach you how to make
Quick Snow using the In House Animation capabilities of PhotoImpact.
Making an animation
"without" Gif Animator that used to come packaged with PhotoImpact is
very easy. I will show you how in a very quick and easy tutorial.
No outside filters are used to make the Snow
it is all done with the Particle Effects animation in your drop down menu. in
your PhotoImpact Software.
Supplies Needed: A copy of PhotoImpact

Right-Click and save the photo to your
Hard Drive. This photo was taken
by me and is copyright free for your use in this tutorial.
Let's get started and don't forget to save often!!
Open your copy of PhotoImpact.
Goto File/Open and navigate to the folder you saved the
above image or open one of your own images.
Duplicate your image Ctrl+D and close of the original image.
Goto Effects/Particle Effects from the drop down menu.

The pop out below will become available to you and this is
were we are going to make the snow all in one step by changing a couple of
numbers.
Firstly change the number of frames to
4.
Click on Snow in the Particle scrolling menu to the left.
Then make sure there is a tick in the Repeat box.
Now click on the Infinite Loop button so that your
animation when finished won't stop after the 4 frame sequence.

Make sure that you are in the Basic Tab menu.

On Frame 1 (starting from the top) change
The Density to 1000
The Size to 13
The Variance to 100
The Opacity to 100.
Now click on the diamond button at the end on the right
and this will take you to the last frame number 4.
You will also need to change frame 4 to the same settings
as frame 1.

The Density to 1000
The Size to 13
The Variance to 100
The Opacity to 100.
Now click on the Advanced Tab as we are going to change a
number here as well.

On Frame 1 change
Vibration to 20
Now click on the little diamond at the end on the right,
(this will take you to Frame 4) and also change
Vibration to 20
Nearly there! :-))
Click on the triangle and run your animation.
Happy with it??
Then click on the Save button.

You will get another pop out that will let you save your
animation without taking it to GA.

On this pop out, change the colours to 120 and give your
animation a name.
The default Frame delay is 10. I have changed mine to 12 as I
felt that 10 was a touch to fast.
Make sure that there is a tick in the Infinite Loop box.
At this stage as we are not using Gif Animator, make sure
that there is "NO" tick in the "Open with
Ulead Gif Animator" box.
Click on Save.
Now you are Finished.
Navigate to the folder you saved your animation to, double
click on it and your animation should look something like the animation below.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
