Paint on Edges in PSP

For this particular question that Pauline asked or expressed
"Is there a way to
do POE in PSP X2".
Answer "YES" 2 in fact.
Layer Styles
From the PSP X2 version, there is a neat little tab you can play with called
Layer Styles. to get this right-click on your layer and go to Properties.
Click on the Layer Styles tab and you will see a whole new world open up.

To apply an Inner Glow layer style
1. Double-click the layer on which you want to apply the effect.
2. In the Layer Properties dialog box, click the Layer Styles tab.
3.
If you want to
preview the changes on the actual image, mark the Preview on Image check box.
4. In the
effects column that lists the effects, mark the Inner Glow check box.
The After pane is updated to show the initial Inner Glow effect.
5. Drag the Size slider to set how far glow extends inside the layer data.
6. Drag the Opacity slider to set the lightness intensity and visibility of the
glow.
7. In the rainbow color picker, click a glow color. The current color appears
along the bottom row of the color picker.
8. Click OK.
9. You can save Layer Styles settings as a preset and then apply them at any time
to another layer.

Note: Rastersize your vector layer before saving as a precaution, although I
didn't have trouble with the effect staying on when saving this morning I did
when I first started to play with this Layer Style tab and found that I needed
to Rastersize the Vector layer.
This POE effect can also be done in the lower versions down to PSP 7 I think.
Second Way
3D Cutout Effect
For POE number 2 I used the 3D Effects/Cutout
Selections/Select All/Float
V -3 (Minus 3)
H -3 (Minus 3)
Opacity 75
Blur 10
Shadow colour at black
Fill interior with colour box unchecked.
Click OK
Now go straight back to 3D Effects/Cutout and just take the minus sign off the 3
and leave the other settings alone.
V 3
H 3
This will put a shadow on the opposite side giving you an all round POE effect.
Click OK

Personally I like the Layer
styles the best, quicker to do.
