Insert and Animate an Image in
GA 5

Draw something in PhotoImpact, open it in GA 5 and make an
animation with it. When you are happy with the animation, save it as a UGA file.
Goto:: File/Save As/UGA
OR
You can download the UGA that I made for you to
practice with HERE
It has 10 Frames.
Type your name
in PI and save
as a UFO.
Open your UFO name in GA 5
Make sure that you have All Objects in the Show Objects
drop down list showing.
You should see the 1 name layer and 1 frame on your
storyboard.
Press the Duplicate Frame(s) button 9 times and that will
give you a total of 10 frames.

OK now for the fun part!!
Make sure that you have the first frame highlighted in the
frame storyboard.
Click on your Add Image icon
on the menu bar just under the written menus at the top.

Note: When you
open a UGA file in GA 5 it will distribute itself across the number of frames
that you have on your frame storyboard.
That is why it is
important to make sure that you have the correct number of frames available on
your frame storyboard.
When your UGA image is opened in GA it will
come in with all its layers selected and if you look in the main viewing window
you will see that all the pieces have lines around them.

Select your Pick Tool, touch the image in the view window
hold down your left mouse button and (move) the image to were you would like it
to sit on your name.

Example

Once you have the image were you like it and while the
image layers are still all selected;
goto Frame/Synchronize Objects Across Frames

with these settings below

Click on the preview tab and run your animation.
Play
with the frame timing making it go faster, slower or even
pause 1 frame for longer than the others, if you are not happy with it.
When you are happy with
your timing, you will need to crop your image.
Grab you selection tool and draw around your name and topper.

Always select the
frame that has the most space used by your animation.
If you need to move the selection
rectangle after you have drawn it, just tap the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Now go to Edit/Crop Canvas.
This will crop the excess off around your
image and name, which lowers the kb's (weight) of
your animation.
If you would like to lower
the weight (kb's) of your animation further then click on the colour preset drop down list
and choose Photo 128.

Click on your optimize tab and hit the save
button.
or go to File/Optimization Wizard to save
your gif.
