Supplies needed:
Your imagination,
a graphic and the plug-in Ecosse
which can be found HERE
This
tutorial was written in
PSP9.
You
should be able to do it in PSP8
I don’t
know about PSP7.
OK here we go.
-
Open a
new image in PSP 250 X 375
-
Choose
two colours from your Tube, one light and the second one darker.
-
Go to
your colour palette and click on the Gradient tab.
-
Choose
the Foreground-Background gradient and flood fill your canvas
-
Then
Selections/Modify/Select Selection Borders (in PSP9)
-
Use the
settings in picture below, inside checked, Anti-alias checked and a border
of 10.
-
Click OK
-
Then
flood fill with your Gradient.

-
Or
Selection/Modify/Contract put 10 in the box.
-
Then
Selections/Invert Selection, then flood fill
-
Now we
need to copy and paste your graphic as a new layer and resize to fit and
move to a position that you like.
-
Then
Duplicate both your graphic and your background layer and X out one tube
layer and one background layer.
-
you
should have a layer palette that looks like this.

-
Keep
the Tube layer highlighted as you merge so that the x out background layer
will be at the bottom when you have finished merging.
-
Merge
Visible.
-
Click
on the merged layer and apply the settings below
Effects/Ecosse/Flutter

-
Image/Canvas size, give yourselves plenty of room to
work in, I made mine 500W x 600H
-
Click on your Deformation tool (pictured below) and
also highlight the other background layer on your layer palette.

-
Pull out your bottom background layer about 2 squares
all the way around

-
click on merged layer and add a drop
shadow of
V 4
H 4
Opacity 30
Blur 10
Then add Drop shadow again with
V -4
H -4
Opacity 30
Blur 10
on the TUBE LAYER I used
V 2
H 2
Opacity 80
Blur 6.2
-
Selections/Modify/Contract and put in
the number that you used to make the border. In this case 10 (this to
protect your border when adding effect)
The bottom background layer can be
done in a couple of ways.
You can add both of these settings
below to the background layer or you can just add one.
Basically it depends on your taste and
what you think looks good, as this plug-in (Flutter) seems to work differently
on different size canvases as you can see by my examples at the bottom of the
page.

When you are happy with the way it
looks, add the same drop shadow as you put on your tube above, to the bottom
background layer, don't forget to do the V-2 and H -2 to make it look even all
the way around.
Still on the bottom layer go
Selections/Float.............then
Edit/Copy Merged...............then
Edit/Paste as a new Image.
All that remains to be done now is your
name and anything else that takes your fancy

For the name (which I duplicate 3
times) I use a distinctive gradient and had a good play with the Flutter
effect.
Selections/float/modify/contract and I
contracted 3. The Flutter treatment looks better with a middle colour for the
Stroke Width.
Then gave it the Lokas Software Gel on
default settings.
Then while still selected
gave it the snow treatment with the
VDL Adrenaline/Snowflake
Move the amount slider down to about 16
or there about, leave the other settings on default. If you like smaller
flakes move the size range slider down, I moved mine to 15.
Click Ok
Highlight the second name and do the
snowflake again but this time just move the Random slider up, same on the
third name, just move the Random slider again
Now you can deselect and take your name
to AS after adding your favourite drop shadow and a tube.
