No one wants to bite peach?
----------------------------------------
Sunday 28th 248 Global Challenge at Palmerston North, and I was prepared for getting a good bash before I left, but as it turned out noone wanted to bite the Peach and not a single scratch for a change .
Was good to see 3 Nelson drivers and two Christchurch drivers as well., gotten to know the poms a bit now Kev Smith  now resides in Palmy and Mark Peters who has been staying with the Rowlands. Both have awesome personalities.

I was in group B for our one qualifying heat and was on grid 9. The outside row seemed to get away quicker and I watched for the tanks of 8P Scott Miers and 56V Kerry Podjursky to come past. I knew Kerry was on the outside row behind but forgot where Miers was behind me,saw Kerry going round the outside in the first bend and he was a sure target so gunned it and was wondering why the hell i couldnt get him and he was gone . Dumbass me over the noise I couldn't hear my engine and had forgot to change from 3rd to 4th lol.
Was struggling a little later in the race with the wet patches and loosing ground, also from avoiding some spun cars. Noticed the pack coming to lap me, must of been about just over mid race so slowed and waited to see if the tanks would come in to attack but they went by so got on the pace again and finished.
Kerry did say he was going to give me a snot but thought better of it and went on to qualify.

The repercharge only seemed a few minutes later. I was at the back of the grid on the outside row and drove this race as fast as I could wishing I had put the 8.26 gears in instead of the 8.46 set I was running. Still had some pace in this but dropped to 20 pound oil pressure so pulled out putting onto the infield for the last two laps and crossed the line as it was I only had to beat one car. First time Ive really been on the grass this season, was going to shut down but decided to ciculate instead of stopping then crossing.

So sat back and relaxed watching the gruelling 3 20 lap heats, and observed the tanks, noted that Kerry had trouble going into the turns and would have been easy to nail, Scott on the other hand could turn that 8P Tank real tight in the corner and hold it tight and with speed. Kerry was the man though in the last heat running the pole line slow and snotting cars up the wall. I lost count of how many he got lol.

Was a good meeting with very fast hard racing. Next meeting for the 13Peach is at Meeanee which is the HawkesBay Superstock Champs run in conjunction with the first round of the $30.000 Superstock Shootout series with a 32 car field over 3 heats.
The other 3 rounds in march are at Temarua,Stratford and Palmy. The week after it is the NZ Teams Champs in Palmy, Im shattered that I am teamless this year so just a reminder to any team if you are short I'm here to give 113 percent email martyka13@yahoo.com
