PROFILE OF DECORAMA PERSIANS
I started off with my Persian Showing back in approx. 1988 with a Tortie Harlequin Kitten, at first purchased as a pet. Her name " Dudley Decorama " in my opinion as a first time exhibitor she did quite well at the Shows although at this stage only shown locally (she managed various top ten placing's at many shows). So she was the start for me. I had a lot to learn on every aspect of Grooming, Bathing and Showing etc. But went around the Shows with my eyes & ears open. By doing this and experimenting myself, I learnt the basics. I was so happy with my Kitten (Rama) and her Results (a very spoilt wee girl) I then decided to change her to a Breeding proposition, which the Breeder was happy to do as she was the person whom encouraged me to first show her.
I then proceeded to obtain my Prefix through the N.Z.C.F and I was lucky enough to be granted the one applied for " DECORAMA" named after my first girl mentioned above. As she was the only one I had, for the first few years I had to rely on other Breeders with Studs that were open to use. But after a few years Decorama Persians soon grew and as you will see by the Boy's Page and their Photo's, Likewise the Girl's Page you will see it has grown quite considerably. Amongest the Boys their are two not Breed by Decorama, " Ringo " the Black Harlequin was Imported from Australia and the Red Solid " Fella " was purchased from a N.Z. Breeder. The Girls, their are two Imported from Australia " B.B. " a Black girl and " Buffy " a Blue/Cream & White. This was done to bring in some outside lines.
All the Cats you will see Photo's of within my Web Site are still Shown at Various times except for the Red Solid Male " Fella " he has achieved the highest award (Gold) here in N.Z. and the Black Girl " B.B. " injured and scared one of her eyes. But these two Cats are also my oldest within the Cattery.
My first love in the Breeding of the Persians is the Bi-Colour's as by my first Girl. But I have also set myself a goal of Breeding Top Red Solids. (or attempting to) This is the colour I truly love amongest the Solids although I have picked the hardest colour to get true. (so I get told) I try to Show my Cats throughout N.Z. as I have enjoyed the Showing in the past and in my opinion do above average at Shows Attended. With many BIS's with both Cats & Kittens But with recent (2004)Changes to the Show Awards System by the N.Z.C.F. has left me with lack of interest or I should say the Shows are now Lacking the Interest (for me anyway) THIS SITE UPDATED 01-06-04
