McKeown Petroleum Waimate 50 GT Series - Labour Weekend 2011
Saturday 22nd October - Whitehorse Motors Hillclimb
- Same as last year, purpose built spectator area with all food and refreshments.
Saturday 22nd October - Loot Jewellers 1/4 Mile Sprint
- From 5.30pm a standing 1/4 mile sprint down the main street
- Two great live bands on the main street - The talented ANZACS from Christchurch and also a great local band
Sunday 23rd October - Dunlop Rallysprint
- Spectating possible this year - in from the finish through the pits, off Gum Tree Flat Road
Sunday 23rd October - McKeown Petroleum Street Sprint
- Embrace the racing around the town centre
- 10,000+ spectators last year
- After the success of last year TV are planning another programme of the event
- This is not just a motorsport event, it's a carnival/festival!
Sunday 23rd October - Other Events
- Check out the Gulf Oil Museum in Seddon Square. A great range of historic and rare vehicles.
- This year we have the Red Cat Bi-Plane doing flights. Watch the events from the air! This will be especially good for the hillclimb and street sprint.
