The result of collaborations between Megan Gallacher, Ed Wilson & David Khan, BOCCTAHNE (pronounced vussTANya) formed in early 1999 &, over the next 18 months, released some of kRkRkRk's most evocative & popular recent music.

Emphasizing group dynamics & spontaneity, the trio combined lush, abstract vocal harmonies with a traditional blend of bass, guitar & piano-organ sounds. The resulting music had some song/lyric features - but, in general, BOCCTAHNE were happy to relax the more stringent requirements of songwriting in order to maximize space & atmosphere. Mesmerizing & repetitive, their simple & melodic arrangements were more songlike sketches than songs proper - delicate, ephemeral & tantalizingly unresolved.
