Saxophonist and composer, David Edmundson has been involved in the music scene in Auckland, New Zealand since the early 1990’s.

Originally from Christchurch, where he studied jazz at the Christchurch Polytech, David moved to Auckland spending three years playing lead alto in New Zealand’s premier Big Band, the Rodger Fox Big Band.

Since that time David has been active in the local jazz scene as a player, leading his own Jazz Trio and Quartet and in the saxophone quartet, FBSQ. He is also a respected educator, currently Teacher in Charge of Jazz Studies at St Cuthbert’s College in Epsom.

David plays tenor, alto, soprano and baritone saxophones.
