Wahaika
A short club carved
from whalebone and displayed on a wood burl.
The eyes in the figures on the club and club handle are hand-turned
paua.
The Wahaika was used in close combat. The more elaborate items
were
named and passed on from generation to generation and were used
primarily for ceremonial purposes.

a collector of Maori weapons.
