The Objects of the Trust shall be:
To promote, plan, fund, develop and establish a functional and high quality interconnected network of trails for walking, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding and any similar non-motorised recreational leisure activities covering the area of Te Anau, Fiordland (including the Mavora Lakes) Southland, New Zealand as the Trustees in their absolute discretion shall determine (called “the Trail”) whenever such Trail will contribute to the social, cultural, environmental or economic wellbeing of residents or visitors to that area;

To establish, implement and manage a system for the purposes of seeking, raising and managing funds for the purposes of the Trust generally, including but not in any way limiting those purposes, for the planning, development, maintenance and operation of the Trail;

To undertake all other activities normally conducted in accordance with the planning, development, establishment and maintenance of such Trails;

To promote the Trails in the Te Anau, Fiordland (including the Mavora Lakes) Southland, New Zealand area as a destination to local people and visitors to the area;

To implement and carry out a management programme under which the Trustees may:
(a) Enhance community involvement in all aspects of the work of the Trust;
(b) Consult closely with the landowners and entities concerned with land which may be involved with the Trail and obtain access and management agreements to any proposal, design, plan or other arrangement connected with or a part of the Trail;
(c) Upon implementation of the management programme for the Trail to operate and manage the same for the benefit of the residents and visitors of the Te Anau – Fiordland Area (including Mavora Lakes) Southland, New Zealand until such time as implementation and management of the Trail may be taken over by the Department of conservation or such other nominated entity or organisation; and
(d) To gauge community demand and where appropriate develop the Trail further to provide for further community walking, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding and other similar non-motorised recreational leisure activity.

To do all such things as are conducive to the provision, supply and furtherance of the above objects and any other charitable purpose which the Trustees deem desirable and which are acceptable to the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and/or the Charities Act 2005 or any Act in substitution.

To engage, promote and assist in any manner directly or indirectly any other organisation person or persons engaged in any charitable activity in New Zealand with similar objects as approved by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and/or the provisions of the Charities Act 2005.

The objects or purposes of this Trust are or shall be charitable as approved by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and/or the provisions of the Charities Act 2005 and shall be deemed not to include or extend to any matter or thing which is or shall be held or determined to be non-charitable or to be a non charitable purpose other than an ancillary non charitable purpose within the meaning of Section 5 Charities Act 2005 and the powers and purposes of the Board and trusts hereby created shall be restricted accordingly.
