My
Glanza!
Update
30/04/2000: Took car to have engine oil and filter changed.
Thought I'd try Elf 10W/40 Semi Synthetic Competition Oil. Car definately
ran smoother after the oil change. Good oil can make a difference.
Update
15/04/2000: Just a bought a set of small tyre air valve cap.
Its blue to match my blue car trend. Makes the car a little more unique
and protects grit and stuff from clogging up the tyre air valve.
Update
11/03/2000: Professionally installed my sound system!
Purchased a VDO Radio Cassette deck and 10 Disc Changer System package,
dealer also did the installation. Sounds awesome. Only thing is
placement of the tweeters isn't optimal and front speakers in original
position is not optimal for sounds but short of cutting up the car there
was no other better positions.
Update
26/02/2000: Got my Pioneer 4" front speakers with tweeters.
Also 2x8" boxed and carpeted Rockford Fosgate subs. Will need to get it
professionally installed next.
Update
24/02/2000: Finally got around to fixing the door open/closed
detection switch. My dealer managed to source a replacement part for it. I
drove the car in and he got it fixed in about 10 minutes at no cost. Great
service! Also
purchased a DHD 4x50w Amplifier, it was on 50% discount. Will install it
after I get the other components that I am looking for. (See my Future
Upgrades section for what I intend to
do)
Update 19/02/2000: Bought the car seat
covers, floor mats and air freshener. Decided on a blue theme for my
car
Update 12/02/2000: Managed to get a high
end fully featured alarm professionally installed into my car. (dual
immobilliser, ultrasonics, battery backup, miniscreamer, all-black wiring,
etc). However discovered that the door open detection switch which was not
working properly, it affected the functionality of the alarm because you
could open the door even if the door is alarmed but the switch would not
register the door as being opened hence the alarm would not sound.
Fortunately the ultrasonic would pick up anyone entering the car anyway.
But will have to get it fixed.
Update
06/02/2000: Car runs great. But discovered a problem
that I did not pick up, nor the AA when they did the inspection, that the
door open detection switch (there is a little switch that is pressed when
the door is shut and depressed when open that will tell the car to switch
on the little reading light on the roof of your car) isn't working. Not a
big deal and will get Toyota to fix it when I have time.
