children in the Taranaki,

1850, 90th birthday today. Like Rev.
F.G.Brittan, another Canterbury pilgrim who has reached
his 90th birthday this year -------- was nearly 3
years old when he arrived with his parents on the
Cressy, ----- for 8
years he lived in Lyttelton-- home at Salt's Gully near where the
tunnel was later built, ----- when nearly
11 years old set out by
himself on a long journey to Rangiora to obtain work there, was at a
number of Canterbury farms over the years
------ 16 years with Mr Duncan
Rutherford at mendip Hills ---- own farm at Rangiora until
19 years ago --- went to the North Island in 1928 --
came back to live with his daughter , Mrs H. Chatterton of Tai-Tapu.
