Inquest   -  NOLAN -  001
Michael Nolan, who was crushed to death between 2 steamers in the harbour, was one of the pilot crew, aged 32 and a Swede by birth.  He was at the wreck
of the Ida Ziegler in 1869,  was married and leaves 2 young children. The pilot had just brought in  the Paterson,   and Nolan with another man Murray  were in
the boat stern     ------   more   ----  a verdict of accidental death was returned.

Accident  -  Rangiora  -  CUNNINGHAM -  004
A serious acident occurred to Mr J.A.Cunningham, while driving towards hus res.  Loburn Station  from Rangiora.  he had Mrs Cunningham and 2 children
with him in the buggy  when the horse shied -----   vehicle capsized ---   Mr Cunningham had 2 ribs fractured ----

O'CALLAGHAN - Mr Thomas, a farmer on the Kaiapoi Island, was killed ---  was returning from Chch driving alight American waggon ---------

NEWTON -  Mr C.  on his way home stopped to water his horse,---  a man lit a match and horse reared up, ------  horse fell on Mr Newton,  ----  broken rib ---

BRADLEY - Mr W. farmer, of West Eyreton. The horse he was riding reared up and fell back on him,  breaking several ribs ------
