The library is owned and maintained by Sir Mortimer Graves. Some of the documents in the library are written by Mortimer; the rest have been contributed by Mortimer's friends or other interested parties.
Mortimer is a halfling, one of that small race of beings often renowned for their light fingers and loose regard for laws of property. Mortimer is quite atypical for his race, being of light build and standing some 3'10" tall, making him a veritable basketball player among halflings.
He was knighted some years ago for services to the Elven Crown, and has a deep love of all things elven. Sir Mortimer is one of the foremost Alusian authorities on ancient history and demonology and also maintains an interest in mechanics -- specialising in the design of siege machines and very primitive steam engines. He also dabbles in many other areas, including alchemy, herbalism and healing, and practices Wiccan magic.
He lives on the outskirts of New Seagate with his wife Petal -- sometimes also known as Esmerelda the Magnificent -- along with their triplets, Zack, Zoe, and Zardoz, several horses, three dogs, 27 cats and a paranoid goldfish named Mack.
Mortimer Graves is a fantasy roleplaying character and belongs to me, Martin Dickson.
Mortimer's Library is intended as a roleplaying campaign resource, for the DragonQuest campaign in which I have played and GMed since 1985. The materials in the library are "in-character" documents and relate to the ficticious world in which the campaign takes place.
All of the material in the library has been written by me, either in my Mortimer alter ego, or as a GM for the campaign and then released to other players. So, for the purposes of the legal stuff... it's all mine!
The graphics on the site were created by me -- my first attempt at web graphics -- using Paint Shop Pro 5+ and Blade Pro, both of which I recommend unreservedly.
I live in Auckland, New Zealand and work as a Software Analyst -- which isn't as much fun as roleplaying, but pays better.
Mortimer's Library is an ongoing project and under continual construction -- until I run out of ideas -- which I hope doesn't happen anytime soon.
