Ward 10 Animated has been picked up for a second series! Hold on to your balls for the show's return, bigger, badder, and even more ridiculous! Are the boys rocking out in heaven, or hell? Or will the series just revolve around hospital life for 3 severely burnt vegetables (not much different to the first series then really, except the burnt part...) You'll have to wait until 2012 to find out just like the rest of us because the writers aren't even telling us what's going on. We suspect that they dont even know themselves and are most likely just pouring the shows money down their throats! The Series 1 Playlist now has a 'play all' function too

Congrats to Ant 10 whose wife, the awesome G Force, just gave birth to their third child Acacia Barbara Denise Ward, born 4:20am 31 August weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces. Mother and baby doing well, apparently Ant's a bit tired...

Ward 10 have just been confirmed to the line up for the legendary Beam Bar Reunion show! This will be a killer night in the old Beam Bar tradition! Also on the bill are Just One Fix, World War Four & a special reunion of KFD! Check out how 2011 the boys are with their animated flyer here!

Apologies to all who have heard early word on a gig on August 14th. Unfortunately this show had to be cancelled due to inconsistencies with the venue's booking manager...

The boys have been practicing hard out for the last few weeks for their first gig in 6 months! May 1st at the Kings Arms Tavern in Auckland, kicking off the NZ Metal Army Annihilation Across the Nation tour! Then on the 5th of May the v1.10 To Be Normal is being included in the first NZ Metal Movie night! A compilation of the best local metal bands videos! The band is still on break while Ant comes to terms with having 2 boys tearing it up! His new son Marshall is 12 weeks old already and doing very well! A smilier baby I've never seen!

Gimpy is still furiously working on pre-production of the programmed tracks and progress is progressing.

Also the good Dr has kindly left a copy of the latest issue of his Drs Report in the staff room for casual reading. This issue deals with more rumour and innuendo about Head Nurse Gs and introduces the two new staff nurses!

The HMHR Metal Fest 2 show last week was awesome! Cheers to everyone that supported the show and especially to Joel & crew for managing to run a show of over 20 bands in one night! That was Ward 10's last show for a wee while as the guys gear up for getting back into the studio for the 2nd record!

The holiday season is practically upon us and Ward 10 will be resting up in preparation for next year which is shaping up to be a vital year for the band. They have been working hard on new material which not only raises the bar from the first album but smashes it through the roof! Shows in the early part of next year will be focusing on developing the new material for their second album! Already it is sounding like the boys have knocked this one out of the park and I can't wait to hear the end result!

Dr von Schtinkinberg hasn’t been seen for months and no one knows where he is. Whether he’s missing on purpose or not we don’t know

With GImpy's son due any day now, the band will be taking a well earned break. Last year was pretty huge for the band with lots of first - album, video and tour! Things may be quiet on the live front in the coming months but the rest of us are working on a DVD release of the To Be Normal video with bonus footage as well as a tour DVD!

In support of the debut album Curing Those Who Are Normal, Ward 10 will be touring the North Island on their Price of Being Normal Tour 07. The tour will be combined with Just One Fix who are also touring on their debut album - The Price of $ellvation. Dates are as follows, more details to follow!

Also issue 25 of the Dr’s Report is available in the staff room This week the good Dr’s attempts to learn the secrets of the basement go horribly wrong! And something smells fishy with the new nurses!

The day draws closer! Album is almost done getting mastered and the album booklet is nearly finished!

Amazingly the album is still on schedule for its mid August release! In fact mastering will begin this week!

In the mean time Ward 10 is playing at Jamie Denton's farewell this Saturday (21 July) at the PR Bar – corner K rd and Ponsonby rd, Auckland. Doors open 8PM with gold coin entry to cover costs! The guys will be playing the album in its entirety to blow out the cobwebs and warm up for the up coming joint album release North Island tour with Just One Fix in a couple of months!

Issue 23 of the Dr’s Report is now out in the staff room This week it seems the Ward 10 Three have mysteriously returned, but it doesn’t seem to be the greatest of news…

Bass re-recording went smoothly and the album is on track for a release early/mid August!

The guys got the last scene filmed for the v1.10 To Be Normal video last week, which sees Gimpy in his brand new Ferrari 612! You can see it in the last video photo page in the photo room The footage is now being edited and should be ready to go in a couple of weeks, stay tuned!

The album has suffered a slight hiccup (yes another, that pesky diaphragm just wont stay in place!) This time Gimpy has decided his bass isnt bad ass enough and is going to re-re-record it. But this time Head Nurse G will be manning the desk so it should be relatively painless and done much better this time (she has also overseen re-recording of the cello recently for pretty much the same reason!)

In other news, issue 21 of Dr von Schtinkinberg's Report is out in the staff room and sees the night time shenanigans round two again going to the Ward 10 Three! Meanwhile Fr. Chris is joined by the Brother Mike, whose dedication is over shadowed by nothing other than his own ignorance!

The guys were busy shooting the video for v1.10 To Be Normal all weekend and the footage looks killer, literally! Just need to get one more scene which should be in the next week or so and then a couple more weeks to edit it. Check out some pictures from on set in the photo room

The album is starting to get into the phat end of mixing so stay tuned for a release date

Also the 20th issue of the Dr's Report is out in the staff room This week the Dr enlists the best help he has available to keep an eye on the Ward 10 Three’s nightly shenanigans. As the best available also happens to be the worst, things don’t go exactly to plan! The guys will be getting back into recording mode so wont be playing too many shows in the near future but as soon as the record is done they'll be back at it like banshees! All going to plan they'll be in the studio all this coming weekend and if sobriety can win out the results should be promising!

It may seem very quiet on the home front here but the guys have actually been busy

There haven't been any gigs for a while as the guys have been gearing up for recording but they'll be playing again very soon.

Beats, bass and cello have been laid down (mostly). Currently we're looking at options for studios/mixers to do the guitar & vocal tracks for the guys

We've been working hard on updating the web site and that should be finished pretty soon. It will basically reflect the Ward 10 Hospital and will include some new pics, staff introductions and a weekly report from the resident psychiatrist. The boys are still settling in, well as settled in as you can be when you're constantly held down with restraints…

Gimpy also tied the knot recently to his lovely lady G (now doesn't that put a whole new spin on the term!) so has been preoccupied with that. Then he was busy drinking cocktails in swimming pools in Fiji (bastard!) and consummating the marriage (shudder…) Pictures will be up soon, not of the consummating but of Gimpy in a suit getting hitched!

Earlier this month Gimpy took his bride (man that will just always sound strange!) to Melbourne for the F1 and they had a blast! Even checked out the local Hard Rock Cafe which included a copy of Blizzard Of Ozz on LP, autographed by the band at the time, including the legendary Randy Rhoads!

In June/July Gimpy and bride are off on a contiki around Europe (double bastards!) which we'll no doubt have to hear all about...

If you haven't heard yet Gimpy proposed to his lovely lady G at the Hell Bound Halloween Fetish Ball last month! At the end of their set he popped the question, even getting down on one knee! (to great audience applause, and one comment of "she'll definitely fellatio you tonight!") She said yes of course and plans are well under way for a wedding some time in November next year. Plans are afoot once again to get some good quality Ward 10 sounds down on plastic (just doesn't quite have the same ring as vinyl does it…..) The bass track has been laid down for about half of the first song. Doesn't sound like much but then again their first song is only a smidge under 50 minutes long! Guitar tracks are up next, then the cello and then they'll have about half a song done….

Other plans which are afoot include merchandise and the long overdue overhaul of the web site which is under way and will resemble the "Ward 10 wing" of the new hospital the boys are moving to. Keep an eye out for the Dr's weekly updates on how the guys "treatment" is going and the as yet un-openable basement…. Oh and maybe the odd comment from "Trevor the night watchman"

Anyway if you haven't heard we again made it through to the Regional Finals of the Battle of the Bands this year, but unfortuanealtey no further. Given the 'acquired taste' of the band and with all the different judges that have judged us and their own personal tastes, I think we've done really well to get to the Regional Finals 3 years running.

As for the web site we are planning a major over haul which will hopefully happen soon and should look awesome!

We are also planning some decent recordings which are already under way and should be finished at some stage...

Well the competition was well hard!!! And so its the end of the Battle for us this year. We were apparently 3rd on the night and we played what I believe was probably our best show yet. Thanks to everyone who came and supported us, we had a really cool night!

After a couple of 'not our best shows' in the heats of the World Battle of the Bands, we played a real doozy in the regional semi and are thru to the regional final this week, thurs 9th Sept at Lincoln Green again! Bands start 8:30 sharp and we think it's $10 on the door. 7 bands enter, only one goes to the nationals. Thanks heaps to everyone who came out to support our semi, it was a wikkid gig and we love you all....

Well somehow we're through to the semi finals. Playing at the Lincoln Green on the 2nd Sept. Retribution also in the semi. Bands start 8:30, $7 on the door.

Well we didnt get through to the nationals for the battle of the bands. There was only one spot and the competition was awesome. Anyway we're now getting back into learning the rest of our second song & mixing our independent record.
