General English
General English courses are offered at levels from Beginner to Proficient user. All courses focus on
developing communication skills so that you gain greater confidence and flexibility when using your
English. The learning programme is fashioned according to your needs-you are actively involved in the
learning process. Minimum age for entry is 16. All group courses are limited to 8 learners per group.

 English + Activity
This course is particularly suitable for students who wish
to combine English study with professional instruction in
an activity. You can choose from Sailing, Tennis, Golf,
Diving (leading to a PADI license) or Gardening. The
courses are two weeks in length, except Diving which is
three weeks long. All English + Activity courses are led by
professionals. For further information, contact Active

Academic Preparation
CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATION COURSES
FCE, CAE, BEC and CPE are 8 week courses of 25 hours tuition per week - General English in the
morning and special examination preparation classes in the afternoon. The courses run from
March-June and September-December.
IELTS PREPARATION COURSE (International English Language Testing System)
IELTS is a 4 week course - General English in the morning and special examination preparation
classes in the afternoon. This course is especially suitable for students wishing to further academic
study at university, polytechnic or high school. Contact us for more information.
Students of Lower-Intermediate level can also sit for the Preliminary English Test (P.E.T).
Examinations take place in March, May, June and November.
Business English
This programme is for you if you are at work and need to improve your English. It is ideal for
administrative and office staff and young professional people. The course content is more sophisticated
than our English in the Workplace programme. The course follows either a Super-Standard or
Super-Intensive programme. You will receive your Business English tuition in five one-to-one sessions
over a week. This will consist of:
- business correspondence
- vocabulary from the fields of finance, sales, advertising, and personnel
- cross-cultural differences in business
- meetings, presentations, and negotiations
You must have a minimum of intermediate level of English. Course length is a minimum of one week.

Professional Development
These programmes are for you if you wish to develop your English in a professional context. Minimum
age for entry to these courses is 18 and entry is at the discretion of the Director. There is a pre-course
test and needs analysis.
ENGLISH FOR TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY
This course is for you if you are working or are planning to work in the tourism or hospitality industries.
The course covers:
- Words and expressions related to the tourism and hospitality industries
- Communication and customer service skills
Methods include role play, simulation, and other action methods. This course lasts 8 weeks and
starting dates in 1999 are March 1 or September 30. For the March 1 course, you must register by
February 8 and for the September 30 course, you must register by August 30. Minimum entry age
requirement: 18 years old.
ENGLISH FOR HOTEL MANAGEMENT
This 12-week course includes our English for Tourism and Hospitality course and a four-week IELTS
exam preparation course. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be qualified to entera
Hotel Management College such as the International College of Hotel Management in Adelaide,
Australia, one of the top Hotel Management colleges in the world.
ENGLISH FOR THE WORKPLACE
This programme is for you if you need to improve your English for your job, if you are preparing to get a
job, or if you are about to make a career change. The course follows a Super-Standard programme. You
will join a General English group in the mornings and the afternoons will consist of an hour per day of
one-to-one tuition covering areas such as:
- workplace correspondence (telephone, fax, letters, email, reports)
- communicating in social situations
- vocabulary which is specific for the workplace
You must have a minimum of pre-intermediate level of English. Course length is a minimum of one
week.
