Active English Language Academy

Active English Language Academy is located in Parnell, Auckland, a beautiful part of the city only 5 minutes from downtown by bus and only 10 minutes walk from the shopping area of Newmarket.   Homestay family accommodation is within a half an hour away, either by bus or on foot.

Active English was established in 1989 and our mission is to provide top quality language, communication, and teacher training. We use the latest communicative action methods which ensure rapid progress in your learning. 

We never have more than a total of 48 learners at Active English because we believe that personal attention and an 'at home' atmosphere creates a place where you can meet people and use your English in comfort. Our classes never have more than 8 learners in them, so you are assured of personal attention.  We truly believe that 'small is beautiful'. 

At Active English, you can meet people from Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Tahiti, Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, China,  New Caledonia, Brazil, Spain and other countries.  Active English has a truly international feeling.

Learners at Active English are mature and motivated.  It is the place for you if you wish to make fast progress in your English communication skills in a friendly environment.
