This is the second folding Retinette model from Kodak made around 1939 and used the same basic layout as the Retina camera of the time. On the earlier Retinette (type 147) the folding door protecting the lens opened downwards rather than to the side as viewed here. The lens is front-cell focussing rather than the whole lens/shutter assembly moving on a helical as with the earlier Retina I models.
This camera is fitted with a Kodak-Anastigmat 50mm f/3.5 lens in a Compur shutter.
