Founded in 1905 originally behind Maori Hill School the Balmacewen Tennis Club Inc. is now situated in the beautiful grounds of the Otago Golf Club. There are two hard courts and three artifical grass courts in excellent condition. There currently are over 150 members of which over half are juniors. Many people join the club to play socially in this lovely setting while others want to play competition tennis in one of the clubs 15 teams. Coaching is now a big part of the club and combined with the club's ball machine it's a great place to improve your tennis.

Message From... Peter Dick Club President Balmacewen offers coaching for junior beginners from 7 years on with our Club Coaches Richard Bourne, Hugh Bosman, Conrad Wong and Philippa Cosgrove. Richard & Hugh are also available to coach seniors. Once the juniors have mastered the basics juniors can then join one of our club teams and play in the Tennis Southern Association competitions. New senior social players are always welcome and we have regular social tennis that caters for all skill levels. More women are needed. The more skilled players can join one of our senior competition teams and play in the Tennis Southern competition. We look forward to meeting you in person.
