Mar 3 approx. 10:00 Pink, green and white rays low in south.
            13:00 Glow in similar colours in south.
                (S46.4 E169.8) - Otekura, South Otago, New Zealand

Mar 4 08:38 Red glow observed while photographing Comet C/2002 V1 NEAT.
                (S40.3 E175.4) - Glen Oroua, Manawatu, New Zealand
            09:00 Faint auroral glow noticed.
            09:10 A single ray due south rising to 15 elev.
            09:30 No colour percieved with naked eye but in photo of Comet C/2002 V1 NEAT a red glow showed up with two pink rays either side of the comet.

Mar 5 10:00 Glow in SW silhouetting cloud to 5 to 10 elev. No colour seen.
                (S44.0 E170.5) - Tekapo, Canterbury, New Zealand
                Pink and green rays to about 70 elev.
            11:45 Similar.
                (S46.4 E169.8) - Otekura, South Otago, New Zealand

Mar 6 08:40 Pink glow between clouds in photo of Comet NEAT.
                (S41 E175) - Paekakariki, Manawatu, New Zealand
            10:00 Active aurora S to SW with rays shooting up to 10. No colour visible. Aurora gone after 15 minutes.
                (S44.0 E170.5) - Tekapo, Canterbury, New Zealand
                White glow with touch of green to about 8 elev. No sign of the aurora during the 20 minutes before this time.
            10:30 Still a strong glow. Ceased observing.
                (S45.1 E171.0) - Oamaru, North Otago, New Zealand
            11:38 Glow with lots of rays.
            12:10 Rays gone; now just a glow.

            13:45 to 14:00 Still a faint glow SE to SW. Faint line in spectroscope.

Mar 7 09:40 to 12:30 Noticed a green glow along S horizon strong up to 10 elev. and then fading up to an elev of at least 25.

Mar 13 13:00 Glow SE to SW to elev 10. Stong line in spectroscope. Patches of brighter light in places. No rays.
            13:10 Similar.
            13:45 to 14:00 Glow brighter due S. Still no rays.

Mar 14 13:45 Glow SSE to SSW to 10 elev., IBC 2. Broad rays in due S reaching to 25 elev. Strong line in spectroscope.
            14:00 to 14:10 Rays now faded. Glow IBC 1 along horizon SSE to SSW.

Mar 27 12:15 to 12:30 Sky cloudy but stars in S. Glow SE to SW to 20 elev, IBC 2. Confirmed with spectroscope. Overcast and fog later.

Mar 30 09:10 to 09:25 Homogeneous glow az 140 to 240 to 15 elev.
                (S46.4 E168.3) - Otatara, Invercargill, New Zealand
            10:30 Glows lightly pink at first but then just white. Heavy cloud inparts.
            13:30 Glow still present but fainter.
                (S46.9 E168.1) - Half Moon Bay, Stewart Is, New Zealand

Mar 31 09:20 Homogeneous glow az 150 to 240 to 10 elev. IBC 1. A white vertical ray wide to 20 elev appeared due S lasting about 10 seconds. IBC 2.

            12:00 Suspected a glow behind cloud.
            14:45 to 15:00 Faint glow seen in cloud gaps in S. Faint line in spectroscope in SW. Sky clear above 30 in S but no sign of rays.
