Apr 2 10:15 Glow SSE to SSW, IBC 1.
            12:10 Glow now SE to SW, IBC 1 to 2. to 10 elev. Line in spectroscope.
            14:00 Faint glow now.
            14:45 Sky clear. No aurora.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand

Apr 3 08:30 to 08:50 Green glow 10 to 15 elev. seen from plane.
                (S46 E170) - Otago-Southland flying at 4000 ft, New Zealand

Apr 8 10:00 Diffuse arc az 140 to 220, elev 15, IBC 2.
            10:17 Suddenly rays appeared along entire arc, reaching to 45: some as much as 60 elev. Arc now a band, IBC 3. All still diffuse.
            10:30 Quieter but still a rayed band. Ceased observing.
                White patch and rays of red, green and even a little purple and white nearly up to zenith. Pulsating and flickering.

            11:40 Glow SE to SW to 15 elev, IBC 1. Line in spectroscope.
            12:20 Similar.
            14:45 to 15:00 Glow along southern horizon to about 10 elev, IBC 2. Strong line in spectroscope.

Apr 9 11:30 Glow SE to SW to 15 elev. Line in spectroscope.
            12:45 Display now much brighter, IBC 2 to 3. Red glow in SW. Two bundles of rays to about 40 elev.
            13:00 Rays faded. Glow still SE to SW.
            14:45 to 15:00 Sky still clear. No aurora.

Apr 10 Reasonably bright glow along southern horizon.
                (S46.4 E168.3) - Otatara, Invercargill, New Zealand

Apr 22 approx. 10:30 and 14:00 Green glows seen through light cloud.
                (S46.4 E169.8) - Otekura, South Otago, New Zealand

Apr 23 09:50 Glow SE to SW to 20 elev. IBC 1 to 2. Strong line in spectroscope.
            10:30 Cloud moving in but glow similar where sky was visible.
            13:00 Overcast rest of night.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand

Apr 24 08:45 Greenish homogeneous glow az 150 to 260, elev 20. IBC 2.
            08:55 One ray appeared at az 240 for about minute. Top part of glow between az 240 to 260 rosy colour.
            08:58 Numerous rays appeared along the entire glow that was visible between clouds (az 180 to 260), up to 30 elev.
            09:06 Most rays now gone, leaving just the glow. Ceased observing.

            09:30 Glow SE to SW, IBC 2. Strong line in spectroscope. Later became overcast for rest of night.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand
            11:00 Appeared to be colour and movement through light cloud.
            14:00 Similar.
                (S46.4 E169.8) - Otekura, South Otago, New Zealand

Apr 28 08:30 to 09:00 Green glow with a few rays (one or two quite concentrated) at SW end. IBC 3. Observed from above cloud layer.
                (S46 E170) - Otago-Southland flying at 4000 ft, New Zealand

Apr 29 14:45 to 15:00 Faint glow confined to SSE and SSW. Confirmed with spectroscope.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand

Apr 30 10:45 White and green colours seen through cloud.
            14:30 Similar.
                (S46.4 E169.8) - Otekura, South Otago, New Zealand
