Mar 1 13:05 to 13:25 Glow and rayed band S and SW. Rays mostly white, but also pink and green. Reaching to 70 elev. Slow movement. Rapid changes to shape of lower parts of aurora. Slow pulsation.

Mar 4 10:00 to 15:00 Suspect glow to 10 elev.
                (S41.1 E175.6) - Phoenix Obs, Manawatu, New Zealand
            10:00 to 12:00 Cloudy conditions but observed what appeared to be a patch pulsing with colours of red, orange, yellow and blue in S. Rays moving sideways.
                (S46.9 E168.1) - Blue Cliffs, Stewart Is, New Zealand

Mar 23 14:00 Widespread light-green glow SE to SW to 10. The edge of the glow was very defined. No sign of glow earlier at 10:00.

Mar 30 11:45 Glow on horizon in S, IBC 1. Confirmed with spectroscope.

Mar 31 08:30 Glow IBC 1 to elev 15. Brightest on horizon in S.
            09:00 Similar. Ceased observing.

            09:00 to 12:00 Glow in S and SW first mainly white but later developing into white, blue, green and pink rays, forming a band. Not exceptionally bright. Dog continually barking.

            09:10 Pale-emerald glow az 140 to 250 to 15 elev. IBC 2.
            09:17 Became brighter, IBC 3 for a few minutes.
            09:30 IBC 2 and elev 10.

            09:41 Bright aurora extremely noticeable with some dark clouds in front. Rays appeared from time to time often reaching 35 elev.
                (S46.5 E168.4) - Invercargill, New Zealand
            10:00 to 12:00 Weakish aurora. Bright low on horizon SW to NW but had faded markedly by 12:00.

            10:15 Broad, greenish arc az 140 to 260, 2 to 15 maximum elev, IBC 2. Suspected rays around az 190. One bright ray seen at az 150 for minute.
            10:30 Cloud obscured bottom of display, otherwise much the same.

            10:15 to 12:15 Green/yellow glow to 20 elev in S sky. Uniform gradient of glow fading from bright at bottom to dark above.
                (S45.9 E170.5) - Dunedin, New Zealand
            12:15 Widespread glow SE to SW IBC 3. Greenish to white on horizon. Strong red glow above 20 elev and to 45. Faint rays to 50 elev just W of S. No movement.
            13:15 Still going.

            14:10 Moderately bright glow in S.

            14:45 Glow still there, IBC 1 to 2.
