Apr 2 12:50 Faint glow confirmed with spectroscope SSE to SSW to 10 elev.
            14:45 to 15:00 Sky clear,; no aurora.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand

Apr 3 10:20 Faint glow az 140 to 260, 15 elev. Same brightness as Small Magellanic Cloud but even so, suggestion of red tint.
            10:40 Suspect glow fainter and more of a greenish or bluish tint: could be contrast to rest of sky. Elev 10. Sky somewhat misty although still very good transparency.

Apr 4 approximately 10:00 Suspected glow in W and even north of W.
                (S45.6 E168.5) - Five Rivers, Southland, New Zealand
            13:30 Light green glow to elev 10.
                (S45.1 E171.0) - Oamaru, North Otago, New Zealand
            13:50 to 14:05 Glow on horizon SSE to SSW. Short ray bundles to 10 elev. One bright patch on horizon about IBC 3 just E of S.
            14:45 to 15:00 Faint glow now SE to SW along horizon to 10 elev, confirmed with spectroscope.

Apr 6 18:36 Initially small rays, some quite bright.
            19:06 The aurora brightened and filled half the sky with bands of rays flushing red then being replaced with others to 80 elev. Rays moved left to right.
            19:13 The aurora 'took off' with rays to 5 past the zenith, coloured red and blue.
            19:30 Dawn twilight stopped observing.

Apr 7 07:30 Glow IBC 2, seen in cloud gap in S to 20 elev. Clouded over after 10 minutes.

            14:45 to 15:00 Still faint glow in S; confirmed.

Apr 15 10:30 A quite bright glow to W and NW seen through cloud breaks.

Apr 22 07:30 Red patch and some green and yellow glow S and SW. Lasted only a short time.
