            10:00 to 12:00 Diffuse glow az 170° to 220°, with rayed band above and a single, bright ray ˝° wide and 20° to 25° long reaching to elev of 40°. Forms faded to be replaced by others and pulsation. Westward movement.

            13:45 Whitish glow SSE to SW. Broad ray due S from horizon to about 15° elev. Glow brightest in SW on horizon.
            14:05 Similar; brightest due S and no rays. Confirmed in spectroscope.
