Nov 2 13:30 Bright, white glow in S about 15 elev.
                (S45.1 E171.0) - Oamaru, North Otago, New Zealand

Nov 7 10:00 to 12:20 Diffuse white glow seen through cloud gaps.
                (S46.1 E168.9) - Gore, Southland, New Zealand
            12:00 to 15:30 Glow behind clouds to S. Broad, faint rays in SW.
                (S44.0 E170.5) - Tekapo, Canterbury, New Zealand
            12:00 to 13:00 Rayed veil SSE to SSW that lit up the whole of the southern sky. The rays were in the SSW.
                (S46.9 E168.1) - Horseshoe Bay, Stewart Is, New Zealand
            13:40 Glow SE to W, elev 15, IBC 2. Strong line in spectroscope.
            14:10 Broad, faint rays now in SE and S to about 30 elev. No movement.
            14:20 Rays now faded but glow similar, SSE to SW. It was brightest right on horizon.

Nov 8 09:30 to 09:50 Very pale green glow to 25 or 30 elev.
                (S46.5 E168.4) - Invercargill, New Zealand
            10:00 to 11:00 Yellow glow, IBC 2.
                (S46.9 E168.1) - Horseshoe Bay, Stewart Is, New Zealand
            10:10 Suspect faint glow SSE to SSW.
            10:48 Glow now brighter. Confirmed with spectroscope. Brightest along horizon. IBC 1.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand
            12:25 Very bright rayed glow and band in S to SW to elev 65. The rays were green, red and white.
                (S46.4 E169.8) - Otekura, South Otago, New Zealand
            12:40 Brighter now. Yellowish with red upper parts in S to 20 elev, and red SW to W. IBC 3.
            13:45 Glow still visible through gathering clouds. IBC 2.
            14:00 Similar. Ceased observing.

Nov 9 9:25 Sky mostly overcast. Glow confirmed in spectroscope. IBC 1 - 2.
            9:50 Glow fading and sky clearing.
            13:45 to 14:00 Sky overcast.

Nov 10 12:30 Bright, white glow in S to 5 elev with traces of light green.
                (S45.1 E171.0) - Oamaru, North Otago, New Zealand

Nov 11 9:45 to 10:45 Orange-pink glow in S. Then clouded over.
                (S46.9 E168.1) - Ocean Beach, Stewart Is, New Zealand
            10:30 to 10:40 Homogeneous glow with hint of green SSE to SW, 10 elev. IBC 2; slightly brighter than the Milky Way. No change during these 10 minutes.
                (S46.4 E168.3) - Otatara, Invercargill, New Zealand
            13:45 to 14:17 Greenish-red pulsating rayed glow. IBC 4. "Best aurora for rays I have ever seen in Tasmania."
                (S42.3 E147.2) - Longford, Tasmania, Australia

Nov 13 10:00 to 12:00 Sky to S unusually bright. After moonset auroral glow confirmed, about same brightness as Milky Way.
                (S44.0 E170.5) - Tekapo, Canterbury, New Zealand
            11:48 Sky beautifully clear. Homogeneous glow SE to SW to 20 elev IBC 1 confirmed with spectroscope - very strong line.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand
            12:00 Rays were seen and the aurora became brighter.
            12:20 and earlier. Diffuse auroral glow, like twilight, along skyline SSE to SW to elev 20 at least.
            12:40 Now a low lumpy arc.
            13:00 Rayed arc with dramatic increase in brightness.
            13:03 Faint wavy arc with numerous faint rays extending from it.
                (S44.0 E170.5) - Tekapo, Canterbury, New Zealand
            13:23 Bright green band S to SW. One wide, white ray shot well up and was just as quickly gone. Smaller, narrow pink rays plus white rays, none of which lasted very long.
                (S46.4 E169.8) - Otekura, South Otago, New Zealand
            13:45 Top of arc SE to nearly W. Several rays reach up into Southern Cross.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand
            14:08 Now a low bright arc SSE to SW. Some weak rays forming a curtain.
                (S44.0 E170.5) - Tekapo, Canterbury, New Zealand
            14:10 Similar glow but rays now faded. IBC 2 to 3. Ceased observing.
                (S45.8 E169.3) - Edievale, West Otago, New Zealand
            15:06 Tall rays up to 15 elev SE to S. Faint smudgy patches at elev 15 SSW to SW.
            15:32 Visible in morning twilight SE to SW. Particularly bright patches on skyline partly behind cloud in SSW and SW with tall rays up from them.
            15:37 Auroral rays still visible in SW.

Nov 17 15:40 to 16:00 Rayed band seen by several people.
